Happy Halloween! 10/30 Today we did a show and tell about our costumes and invited our friends to tell us what they liked most about them. We also wrapped up our friends as mummies, read spooky stories, played games and passed out treats! This week, we made Jeffery the Jack-O-Lantern by carving a giant pumpkin! We looked inside and explored the seeds. We even lit him up with a synthetic Candle.
For Pumpkin Week, we performed three pumpkin investigations: one small gourd pumpkin, one small casper pumpkin and one large farmer's pumpkin. It was so much fun guessing the number of lines on each one. It was even more fun rolling them on the ground to feel their weight and effect of their grooves!
For art, we painted through pumpkin stencils, we drew observational drawings of pumpkins, pumpkin stamped, and made funny pumpkin faces and paper jack-o-lanterns.
