“All About Apples” Week Continued! From seed to healthy treats, week one we learned all about apples! Where do apples come from? What is your favorite color apple? How do you like to eat your apples? We read stories about characters who loved apples, we crossed the mid-line during guided movement exercises, we played with a giant Parachute, and so much more! This week, we are tuning into our five senses - making them as crisp the Autumn we’re coming into. We made apple volcanoes and apple cinnamon play dough with Ms. Nissa. We went on apple inspired sing-a-long adventures, and ventured outside where we found a real apple tree with Ms. Kristina! We even got to plant our own wheat grass seeds. We can’t wait to see them sprout!
Our artwork this week is inspired by all the various colors of apples. Come and take a look at all we’ve been making!
Here is a list of Apple Orchards around the Chicago land area. We'd love to see pictures and hear all about your adventures- should you visit :) “If an apple blossom or a ripe apple could tell its own story, it would be, still more than its own, the story of the sunshine that smiled upon it, of the winds that whispered to it, of the birds that sang around it, of the storms that visited it, and of the motherly tree that held it and fed it until its petals were unfolded and its form developed”. Lucy Larcom
Next week, we will be learning about our five senses. ** Please sign up for making a dish for our potluck dinner coming up October 15th!
